Here’s my final post on my trip to Nice. The main shopping street in Nice is extremely busy and filled with locals and tourists alike. It is lined with cute cafés and restaurants and their biggest department store Nice Étoile is situated along this street as well.
The next day we went to the airport early because I felt a little sick in the morning and we figured it would be safest to get to the airport early. We had to wait quite a while for our check-in counter to even open, so I tried to get into the airport’s WIFI, which hardly ever worked properly. Ultimately we made it in and spent some time doing duty free shopping. In specific: vodka they don’t sell in Austria and Macarons.
Honestly, Laduree’s macarons are great and the packaging is super cute, but all the other macarons I’ve ever had in France are just as good and only a fraction of what Laduree charges you. Fauchon has a big counter in the Nice Airport duty free section and they offer a bigger variety of flavors and bigger boxes at a lower price. I guess next time I’ll get some I won’t settle for Laduree anymore, even though I love the mint packaging.
