Sorry for not posting for a while on here, I’ve been rather busy with my university assignments and traveling. Anyway here’s my little update on my daytrip to Den Haag and Scheveningen.
Den Haag is the city that is home to all administrative departments of the Netherlands and also home to embassies of all nations you can think of. The whole city has a rather democratic feel to it and it is insanely clean and tidy compared to busy Amsterdam. The little alleys and places are very peaceful.
These pictures were taken in front of the peace palace in Den Haag. Sadly, it was closed as it was Sunday. The memorial in front of the palace is noteworthy though. It shows the word for peace in any language you can think of.
We headed to Scheveningen by tram. Scheveningen basically is what Zandvoort is to Amsterdam – a cute town by the beach with loads of dogs running around and cozy restaurants. The one we went to was called MOOD beach. They all serve the same dishes basically, so I think any of the beachclubs there are great.
Then we headed back to the center of Den Haag to enjoy some drinks. That’s basically all we did that day. Den Haag is a rather small town but in combination with Scheveningen it is a great destination for a quick daytrip.
