Review: MCM Liz Shopper and Pochette

This time I’m reviewing the Liz Shopper by MCM. This is a great everyday bag and a nice change for someone who loves to wear their Neverfull on a daily basis. Generally, I recommend this bag a lot to anyone who wants an everyday bag that’s more subtle than big designer bags.

MCM is one of those labels you either love or hate and I happen to be one of those who love the Munich original brand. I like their designs and their general affordability (compared to other brands). The bags are always very well made and last for a long time. I opted for the LIZ Shopper because the style caters to my daily needs and I already know I’d love the shape because I had been using my Neverfull on a daily basis for the last two years. Anyways, here goes my review:

The Packaging

The bag comes in a huge MCM box and dustbag. Check out my unboxing video below for a detailed account of what the bag comes with.

The Pricing

I bought my Liz Shopper for roughly 600€ because I had a coupon from the official MCM online store. I think the prices are the same throughout most major retail sites that carry MCM, but it’s always a good idea to see if there’s any coupon codes around that can give you a little discount.

The Fit & Comfort

This bag feels quite comfortable, although I feel like it will take the leather a little while to loosen a bit. It feels quite sturdy still but I don’t think it will take long for it to get softer. Generally, I prefer soft leather over hard ones, so I’ like my purses a little softer and saggier anyways. Maybe keep this in mind if you’re someone who loves bags that keep their shape, because I don’t feel like the Liz Shopper will keep its shape for that long.

The Liz Shopper is a great fit for anyone who is looking for an everyday bag that can hold more than just your wallet and keys. I’ve used it for uni, work and even grocery shopping so far and have not been disappointed. The straps haven’t fully relaxed yet, so they’re still a bit rough on my shoulders, but I think that it won’t take long until they loosen up a bit. In my unboxing video below, you can see how much the bag fits and it’s a lot!

The shopper also comes with a handy little pochette that can be used as a small shoulder bag, unlike the pochette that comes with the LV Neverfull. To be quite honest, I bought the shopper mainly because it’s a great deal for two bags. The pochette is quite big, it almost fits A4 paper and feels just as sturdy as the shopper itself. I feel like more brands should take not of the way MCM did it and just add a little benefit to their bags. Adding a small accessory like this definitely makes the whole purchase more valuable and shows that the brand actually listens to what the customers want.

Unboxing Video and Size Comparison

In this short video I’ll show you my unboxing of the bag and compare its size to that of the Louis Vuitton Neverfull. I’ll also show you how much fits into the bag.

Final Verdict

I’ve been using the shopper and the pochette since the start of December 2020 now and I have to say I really enjoy using both. However, due to the lockdown I haven’t really used them as much anyways since there’s not much to use them for.

Anyways, they’re great everyday bags that can be used for a variety of purposes. I definitely recommend getting them since you basically get a great two-for-one deal and the bags being of great quality.

I’ll update this review after a while and show you how the wear and tear shows on the bag and how I feel about it after a longer period of time. See ya!
